1:30-2:30 California History- Impressions of California (1st-6th grade)
We will be taking a visual tour through Impressionistic Masterworks of the early artists that painted the California region. From the mountains of Yosemite to Laguna Beach, from deserts to foothills, students will connect to the rich diversity of our area. As we study California Impressionism, students will recreate painted copies of Master artworks. They will first be instructed in Classical drawing techniques, which they will use to copy artworks of their choice. They will then learn how to apply color with acrylic paint and pastels. This class is for all levels. Beginners will be guided step-by-step to achieve mastery of the fundamentals, while more advanced students will be given custom instruction to further guide their studies.
